Meet the Therapists!

  Seppo Johannes Pakkala

Seppo has been in the construction world since 1969, running his own business for many years.  He took over the Steam Baths from his parents in 1991 where they remain immaculate and continue to flourish.

In 1995 Seppo’s career took a turn when he decided to go to massage school at M.I.N.E. This was second nature to him since his Father, Pentti, spent many years as a Massage Therapist alongside his carpentry work. In 1997 Seppo followed this theme by taking Reiki I, II and Master Reiki Practitioner.

This dramatically changed Seppo’s perspective on life. He continued his studies with The Upledger Institute demanding huge time and financial commitments, traveling throughout the USA. Between 1997 and 1998 he completed Craniosacral I and II and also SomatoEmotional release (S.E.R.) I.

At the same time he started his studies in Visceral Manipulation. This included Visceral Manipulation I a, Ib and II, Practical Integration of Visceral Manipulation, Visceral Listening Techniques and Advanced Visceral Manipulation. He completed this in November 2000.

An addition to these classes was Lymphatic Drainage I and II in 2001.

Seppo’s career took a further turn this time perhaps more towards the Metaphysical with The BodyTalk system. During 2001 he completed modules 1-9 and has repeated many of them since.

Seppo had found his niche. Using Massage as his basic tool he beautifully combines his other skills in a subtle and non-invasive way.  He provides people with a sacred space to feel what they need to feel and let go of what they’re holding onto in their lives.

Nicki Pakkala

Nicki was bought up in the English countryside on a small farm. She worked closely with many different farm animals and rode horses since she was two years old.

She trained as a Physiotherapist in London, England, receiving a BSc(Hons) Physiotherapy degree. Working in the National Health Service for three years meant she was exposed to all aspects of Western Medicine. This was followed by working in an elite Sports Injury Clinic in West London.

During this time Nicki studied extensively various Physiotherapy and Osteopathic techniques including: Cranial Osteopathy; CranioSacral; SomatoEmotional Release; Visceral; Lymphatics; Muscle Imbalance; Mechanical Link; Myofascial Release; Muscle Energy; Spinal Manipulation; Neural Release; Maitland; McKenzie and McConnell amongst others. For five years Nicki worked with Manual Therapy Seminars of Colorado and The Upledger Institute assisting their courses throughout Britain and the USA.

In 2000 Nicki started to learn the BodyTalk system and has taken the first 9 modules numerous times along with Parama in 2004. Having taken some time off for a young family she is now studying Parama College. Nicki has also studied CranioSacral Therapy for Horses, Cats and Dogs along with BodyTalk for Animals and PlantTalk. She is a Reiki Master.

Before moving to the USA in 2001, Nicki trained intensively as a Modern Pentathlete competing for Great Britain at Olympic level. She was selected as the Pentathlon team Physiotherapist for Europeans, Worlds and Sydney 2000 Olympics and the Equestrian Paralympic Games. She was also the on-site Physiotherapist for the elite athletes at the London Marathon and Women’s World ˝ Marathon Championships. Nicki wrote articles for the London Marathon Magazine, amongst others, for several years on Sports Injuries.

Now in the USA, Nicki’s focus has changed to BodyTalk but she uses her other skills in Integrated BodyWork sessions when indicated. She also has a strong and successful remote BodyTalk client base including many animals.

In 2010 Nicki is coordinating and co-facilitating her own classes combining BodyTalk, Horse Wisdom (including individual sessions with horses), group sessions and self-inquiry to enable people to identify their issues and limiting beliefs,  and move on to a place of freedom.
